NEER: The Living River

From the majestic mountains that give rivers their beginnings to the fertile plains they nourish, Neer celebrates the interconnected rhythms of nature and life. Inspired by the landscapes shaped by the Sindhu, Ganga and Yamuna, the collection reflects the role of rivers as the cradles of civilisation, sustaining communities, nurturing biodiversity and carrying stories across generations.

Rooted in the philosophy of Bhakti, Neer draws upon the poetry of Kabir and Bulleh Shah, whose verses transcend boundaries in their search for truth, devotion and universal oneness. Their calligraphic expressions come together with Chikankari interpretations of flowing waters, undulating mountain landscapes and the fauna that inhabit these ecosystems — from fish and turtles to the creatures that find refuge in forests and river valleys.

The colours and forms evoke the purity of water, the quiet strength of mountains and the delicate balance of life sustained by nature. Neer is a tribute to the enduring generosity of the natural world — its capacity to nurture, connect and renew, reminding us that all life flows from a shared source.
