Baba Nanak in his Bani explains temptations of life to desire of a bee to have nectar from predatory flowers. भवरा फूलि भवंतिआ दुखु अति भारी राम ॥ मै गुरु पूछिआ आपणा साचा बीचारी राम॥ बीचारि सतिगुरु मुझै पूछिआ भवरु बेली रातओ॥ सूरजु चड़िआ पिंडु पड़िआ तेलु तावणि तातओ॥ जम मगि बाधा खाहि चोटा सबद बिनु बेतालिआ॥ सचु कहै नानकु चेति रे मन मरहि भवरा कालिआ॥ Being aware of sorrow that it would bring, one’s heart is sways like a bee, life is akin to being in hot oil in sun until the darkness of night (end) takes over. Solace was never achieved as one never tilled one’s heart with devotion to the Divine. 

These artworks become One with our own self-realisation and are an attempt to instil the essence of life philosophy found in Bani of Baba Nanak. It has been gracefully and lovingly embroidered in zardosi and chikankari.

This has inspired me to create this embroidered artwork with Mehjabi and Raj Miya to have self realisation about the One Name behind all aspects of the Divine. Bani takes us into the world of Baba Nanak. This Bani with its full grace has been lovingly embroidered in zardosi and chikankari with various name of the Divine to express the faith in his words.
