product description
Baba Nanak suggested earning through one’s own efforts (कीरत करो- Keerat Karo) and he himself continued farming in Kartarpur all throughout his later years of settlement. Knowing that earning for self creates ego and the world of MY around a person. To undo what work creates as by-product Baba Nanak suggested (वंड छको- Vandh Chakko) to share love and tangibles with others and see oneself as part of others सब-तेरा. When we lose all ego and submit to the will of the Divine, we achieve the name of वाहेगुरु. Illumination with light of the Divine (Sat Naam) happens only when we shed all and burn all ego and desires.
Imagining Baba Nanak and his immortal Shabads my mind prepares itself for the crop of wisdom. Farming was a significance of tilling the mind so that its ready to construe the love of सतनाम- Sat Naam, internal realisation of Truth of living for what He created us.
This has inspired the artist to create this embroidered artwork with Mehjabi and Raj Miya to have self realisation about the One Name behind all aspects of the Divine. Bani takes us into the world of Baba Nanak. This Bani with its full grace has been lovingly embroidered in zardosi and chikankari with various name of the Divine to express the faith in his words.
